
Full course description
A doctoral degree is preparation for a wide range of meaningful careers in and beyond the academy. This course equips doc students and postdocs to manage their career and professional development so they are ready to pursue a meaningful career and employment upon graduation or completion of their postdoc experience. The course modules address: career assessments, how to research career options, Individual Development Plans, transferable skills, networking, LinkedIn, application documents, how to effectively conduct academic, industry and federal job searches, interview preparation, evaluating offers and finding internships and postdocs.
